Hey all, I’m back! I knew I’d come back to this blog someday again. I’m taking a new class called Material Design in English teaching, and our first task was to come up with an activity using corpus-based teaching materials and also make the students use it. I’ve came up with few activities, and also made an instruction on how to use corpus. Firstly, I’ve introduced the Corpora to students and taught them how to use it. Then, I wanted my students to use the corpus and distinguish “going to” and “will” usage in future tense because I feel like these two components are generally confused to begin with. After everyone writes down their examples and thoughts, I gave them a sheet that explains the difference between “going to” and will. Lastly, after everyone asks their questions and learn about the difference, I gave them a worksheet for them to practice what they’ve learned as a homework. I have only used Canva.com once in my life, even though I forgot, but I wanted to give it a try anyways. It did not take me too long to get used again to it thanks to its simplistic templates and design. I’ve realized how good it is. From now on, Canva.com will be my go to site if I want to create or struggle to come up with an idea to make an activity for my students! On top of using canva.com, I used the new, revolutionary bot called ChatGPT whenever I had trouble coming up with any ideas. It really baffles me that today’s technology advanced this much in these days in such short time. It’s amazing. God knows what’ll happen in the near future? I can’t wait to find out as a teacher!
