Today's task, (technically not today, I missed this task from earlier because of ongoing earthquake problems) was to create a timeline about computers' and technology’s role in education throughout the history. I’d say the history of the technologies used in teaching and English teaching is very interesting, but knowing about these doesn’t really add much to my technological awareness in the present (Except for the terms and taxonomies that are still used today). It’s like those floppydisks in the 90s. They were relevant to their time, now they are almost completely forgotten and people have moved on to better items. Anyhow, this task helped me understand and create a timeline about a topic and I would love to use this type of chart in my classroom. It’s not exactly related to a timeline, but maybe I’d create some sort of chart to clear what we have done so far in the classroom, like a step-by-step plan for instance!
