Fort his one, we had to choose topic to talk about the general problems around the World. Our group choose “migration” for our topic and made a padlet about the problem. I took the migration problem in Turkey specifically since it’s a very deep problem at the moment.
We also used the KWL chart to acknowledge it further. What is a KWL chart? We take the topic under three conditions.
"K” stands for what we KNOW, “W” stands for what we WANT TO know, and “L” stands for what we LEARNED. These charts help us evaluate what we should do to learn about the topic to get a general idea.
I made further research to add up to what I know, searched some videos to look deeper into the topic. Even though I planned to write shorter in the padlet, the topic was really deep. The chart helped me realize the things I already knew, and what I should have also known to claim myself as “informed”.
For 21st century education, this could definitely be a good take for students, as they are more involved with technology. Students could find this fun and educational, as they state their own ideas about a specific topic in their second language.
